We are going home!

Praise God!

More from Kentucky...

The fluids worked

Her headache is gone. They're now removing the drain and dressings and it looks like we may be coming home!

A rough night and a hopeful morning

She was doing well and then began itching and shaking uncontrollably. It took about 30 minutes to get it under control with iv meds. Scary looking, but she wasn't in any danger. At that point, we decided that I would spend the night here. She was exhausted and we were grateful they figured it out.

We slept like babies...they were in every 3/4 hours checking on her. Dr Teitge came in this morning and was still pleased with the surgery. It seems that she's dealing with the after effects of spinal anesthesia and narcotic meds, which she doesn't tolerate, apparently.

Since she has a headache this morning, they are ruling out a spinal headache - which they are very concerned about - and we still hope to leave today.

More later.

Best Explanation Yet!

Here is the best description, from her surgeon, about rotational osteotomy.

A step forward, a step back

She ate a little for dinner, but is now feeling pretty icky. I'm glad we're staying here, rather than being on the road.

She's fallen asleep, so I'm hoping that helps.

And we're finally in a room

It took longer than we anticipated, but she is now in a room. It looks like we'll definitely be staying the night since the anesthesia hasn't worn off. I figure that if she can't feel her legs, that is a no-brainer.

She's almost ready to have a computer and phone back. Watch out!

And she's done!

We just met with Dr. Teitge and she is done already. He's really happy with the way it went and the plate and screws have been removed and she's closed back up. We get to go back and see her soon.

He is talking about possibly releasing her today, depending on how she comes out of anesthesia and her pain levels. I will let you know what happens as soon as we know.

Thanks so much for your prayers. We really appreciate it.
